So grateful to have found the Kaizen Centre in Birmingham! The fabulous support, guidance, and knowledge received so far has built not only my strength physically, but also my confidence and mindset as a ballerina. The tailored and individual rehabilitation programme I'm receiving has elevated my performance already, and it couldn't be a more positive, fun-filled environment. Love my training here with Darryl and excited for many more sessions to come!

I can't recommend Kaizen Centre enough! Darryl Canham, and Phil Birch at the Dance Clinic, were recommended to us, as my daughter is working hard towards a place at vocational ballet school. Darryl has helped her to develop the necessary strength and conditioning, but so much more than that! Through his positive attitude, encouragement and enthusiasm he is also helping her to develop confidence and self belief. Truly inspirational!

Kaizen Centre had provided excellent guidance and support to my daughter who has been recovering from a dance injury. Darryl’s knowledge and expertise in strength and conditioning has proved to be invaluable in helping Sophie resume both her fitness as well as confidence. Darryl has worked with Sophie in 121’s and via Zoom and all sessions have been varied and tailor-made to meet Sophie’s recovery.Darryl is both fun and motivational and through his professional input and genuine care Sophie is injury free and stronger than ever. Kaizen is a friendly and well equipped centre which aims to support everyone! Highly recommend Kaizen and Darryl as a mentor for all aspiring dancers.

My name is Carlie, I’m 35 and I liked to think of myself as a fit, happy and motivated individual before my injury. I’ve spent 17 years working in Health & Fitness, I competed in various sporting events and I was always challenging myself to numerous health & well-being activities. 3 1/2 years ago I suffered a car accident and have been living in chronic pain ever since. During this time I’ve had X-rays, MRI’s and ultrasounds. I’ve seen doctors and various specialists including chiropractors, physios, osteopaths etc. I’ve had numerous holistic therapies including acupuncture, bowen technique and massage therapy. I’ve spent so much time, money and hope seeing specialists around the UK and nothing really helped me long term. Don’t get me wrong, I had periods of improvements but attempts at returning to fitness / sports always ended with many steps back and lots of pain and discomfort. Now, the above techniques may work for other people but for me no one was treating my whole self, which was hugely frustrating! I have been working with Darryl now for 5 months. Darryl looked at my entire body, not just the site of the pain. He listens, whilst this seems like an obvious thing to do, believe me not many people actually really listened. Darryl really wanted to help me, he genuinely cares and fortunately is also one of the most knowledgeable people I’ve been fortunate enough to meet. Darryl treats my entire body, every session is different, targeting the problem areas and gives me a daily programme to follow. He’s also been a huge emotional support for me, I never knew how consuming chronic pain could be. It’s not been a great chapter but knowing I have Darryl to coach, guide and support me, I know I’ll continue to be a stronger, happier version of myself. A huge thanks to Darryl for everything he’s supported me with. I cannot recommend him enough!

In 2014, I suffered severe injuries to my lower back. An MRI scan confirmed I had slipped two discs in my lumbar spine, resulting in nerve damage restricting movement in my right foot, adversely affecting my balance and visible muscle wastage in my right calf. I spent several years seeking professional help from various chiropractors, osteopaths, physios and Ayurvedic back specialists. None of which were able to help with the physical and mental stress I was enduring. I was introduced to Darryl Canham (DC) in summer 2019 and have since been having weekly rehabilitation sessions at the centre. It was evident from the get go that DC really wanted to help me and genuinely cared. At the beginning of each session DC would look at my entire body, movement and patterns and really listen to my concerns. Every session is different and tailored to focus on different problem areas and not just the obvious! I’ve learned several new exercises, techniques and methods that have all helped enormously with my pain, range of movement, balance and core strength. The movement in my right foot has improved significantly and I can also see muscle growth on my right calf. He continues to support me by giving me weekly exercise plans and stretches to do in the comfort of my own home. A massive thank you to DC and the entire team at the Kaizen centre. I’ve made huge progress in my recovery. I cannot thank you enough. 👊🏾💪🏾👏🏾👍🏾🙏🏾🏋️‍♀️

The Kaizen centre is a one of a kind place to train! The minute you walk through the door you feel part of a family and Darryl’s unending positivity and incredible experience never fails to make you achieve more than you thought you could. The facilities are brilliant, with great equipment and a cushioned floor that is perfect for training steps you’re nervous to attempt on hard surfaces. As a dancer and dance teacher, I’ve gained a huge amount of knowledge and development from training with Darryl, both in 1:1 sessions and the awesome classes, that have helped me understand my body better and develop my skills. Kaizen Centre ethos of ‘continuous improvement’ is infectious, inspiring and really challenges you as an individual, but always in a safe and supported space. If you’re looking for somewhere to achieve your goals and enjoy doing it, come to Kaizen!!

I absolutely cannot recommend Kaizen Centre enough. I found them via The Dance Clinic after trying to deal with a patellar tendon injury for months, as I am a professional ballet dancer. I have been working with Darryl Canham (DC) in 121 sessions for nearly 6 months now and I don’t know where I would be in my rehabilitation journey without him. The knowledge, support, faith and training could not be on a higher level. Not only does he push you and your belief of what you can accomplish physically, but also helps make your goals become reality with expert guidance. I have worked with countless professionals in my dancing career (physios, doctors, personal trainers, various specialists) and I could not find a person who genuinely cares more about your wellbeing. After my first session with DC I knew I had found a gem, someone who I could fully trust and help me get back to dancing, not only on the same level I was when I got injured but better than ever. Stronger than ever. I will forever be grateful for having met DC & Kaizen and I honestly don’t know where I would be without them.

I’ve been a member of the Kaizen Centre for 6 years now and can say it has considerably changed my life for the better! When I started martial arts, I was shy and had little confidence. Thanks to Darryl Canham and his instructor team, I feel so much better physically and mentally. The atmosphere at the Kaizen Centre is always buzzing, and whether you decide to do one of the martial arts classes, or perhaps one of the newer sessions on offer such as MetCon, you’ll have chosen a brilliant place to train. Darryl is always full of knowledge and advice. He is a fantastic teacher and creates a friendly, welcoming environment in each class. I can’t thank him and his team enough for all they’ve done for me. I would recommend training here to everyone!
